This is Our first trip to the Amalfi Coast region in Italy. Amalfi Coast has a lot of small towns which sits on cliff. One can experience majestic views by the ocean and enjoy the beauty of the small Italian towns. The towns basically look like Art / paintings. 

To experience the region I suggest you pick a town to stay and do day trips to all the other towns. A local bus called SitA offers very good connection to all towns for a minimal cost of 2 Euros in the region. 

The variations that Italy offers is just unbelievable. From Alps in the north, Venice in east and History in Rome... For Island and beach it’s the Amalfi coast region. I have to call out that Capri and Sorrento, Positano gets added to the list of my favorite location to visit multiple times. Family friendly to Party set up and you got it covered. I LOVE ❤️ ITALY 🇮🇹.... 

 SORRENTO a cute town is  part of Amalfi Coast. Our third stop of the trip is Sorrento. A one hour non stop train from Rome will get you to NAPLES. The super fast train travels at 300 KM a hour so distance is not a concern while you are here. From Naples you take a cab and Sorrento is about 80 Kilometer from Naples. It cost 120 Euros to travel from Naples. Cab is the best way to reach Sorrento as Naples traffic is rough unlike other parts of Italy

We checked into a AIRBNB which is the best thing I have ever did. A nice two bed room apartment close to central square with everything you can imagine was there in the apartment. 

SORRENTO:

We went to Sorrento without any expectation as our main focus was on the world famous island of Capri... we were totally taken for surprise seeing Sorrento. It looks like a small Switzerland town. Lots of flowers 🌺 all over the city. A laid back city center with lots of restaurants and bars. The whole city is decorated for World Cup soccer ⚽️ 

We just loved the stroll from one end of the Main Street to the other end. Sorento sits in top of a huge cliff and the view from any point is mind blowing. When you come from Naples into the city you can experience some mind blowing views of Sorrento ...

The city is filled with orange 🍊 and Lime trees. Where ever you see in Sorrento it’s Lime and Orange trees... one can pluck Orange 🍊 from the plant and eat it and it’s totally permitted .... if you are going to Capri I recommend that you stay in Sorrento and enjoy this beautiful laid back small town. Enjoy sitting in the numerous cafes and restaurants and just hang around. It’s a good Swiss experience in Italy.

CAPRI, ITALY 🇮🇹 

CAPRI does not need any introduction as it’s the most famous Island in this world and is being filmed in many many Hollywood and Bollywood movies.... Capri is a boat ride away from Sorrento ... A speed boat takes you there in 20 minutes. 

Once you enter Capri it’s all rich and the views are just too good. A boat tour takes you around the island. You can pay a few Euro more to take a complete tour than just the Blue Gratto tour. 

One can experience huge rock formation in middle of the ocean. The water is crystal clear. There are multiple view points in Capri ... one can experience great view of this beautiful place from Anacapri. 

Capri is very very expensive. As it’s an island and due to the inflow of tourist from all over the world and the quality Capri offers. A hotel room in peak season will run anywhere from 400 Euro to 1000 euro. 

Plan it well in advance and pick a time when there is not a lot of tourist. Blue Gratto a boat ride that takes you between caves is very famous. Avoid eating any sea food restaurants as it’s expensive and not worth it. 

Souvenir shops and high class shopping is very famous here. If you want to blow out 5000 dollars on Gucci and other name brand you can do it easily here. 

It’s a must see if you are in Italy. Capri is a world class place to visit. I highly recommend to take the island tour which is operated by a vendor and he was totally  worth it. Capri gets multiple thumbs up for

What it offers. 

POSITANO:

My favorite among the Amalfi Coast town is Positano... it’s a 45 minute bus ride from Sorrento. The ride is adventurous as the bus ride takes you in mountain and the other side is a deep cliff. It’s really beautiful to experience the bus ride from Sorrento to Positano.

Positano is like a painting. The bus drops you on top of the mountain and the town is basically few steps down. While walking you can experience many many number of shops. Very fancy and cute. The view from the top is just amazing and you cannot stop taking pictures. 

The best thing to do in Positano is just hang around in a coffee shop sip your coffee and watch the town. Sea food is famous here if you are a sea food person. 

I highly recommend you to visit Amalfi Coast. It’s very different region in Italy and it’s very picturesque and a world class touristic spot. You cannot go wrong here I suggest a minimum of 4 Days if you visit this region.
