Spring Break is here and it’s the MAGNIFICENT PUERTO RICO this time for an 8 Night trip. Well what to say …. It's BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, and MINDBLOWING…. Puerto Rico is a perfect blend of SPANISH influence in the CARRIBEAN….. After the Spanish-American war Puerto Rico became a US Territory… most of the locations in San Juan will make you feel that you are in interior SPAIN… most of the places reminded me of SEVILLE, in Southern Spain.
The island is in a perfect location in the Caribbean…. It’s very well connected to all the airports from Florida … From Orlando it was a good two and half hour flight to San Juan….
STAY & LOCATION:
Wanted to try something different with respect to stay this time. So selected the East San Juan area where there are beaches surrounded by lush mountains and full of greenery …. I watched a movie recently on Netflix and that motivated me to select this location …
The resort we are staying satisfied all our needs of having a beach that is surrounded by mountains and rain forest… The resort exceeded our expectations by all means and we only have seen 25 percent of the resort.
The views are just MINDBLOWING… A beautiful cliff with the background of LUSH EVERGREEN rain forest and the end of the cliff is the beach …The only other location that had a cliff and the views that can match this was in GREECE…. GREECE of course has many locations with Views that will flatter you ….
The infinity pool was such a nice add on…. The infinity pool on a huge cliff facing the beautiful ocean is a view to die for … The resort had multiple Infinity pools and views which we were very happy about.
DINING OUT:
Eating out is fun and I STRONGLY
Recommend to try local cuisine in San Juan. The food is a combo of SPANISH and CARRIBEAN food. Also the place is very limited and we had difficulty to find a table for 8 in most places. I suggest that you have ONE Meal outside while you are doing attractions. There are plenty of seaside bars and eateries.
If you plan a trip to Puerto Rico the best option for anyone is to select a hotel that has a kitchen. Being on an island the option is limited and for a 8-night stay the best thing to do is find a hotel with a kitchen. All the grocery stores in the mainland are available and one can purchase anything and everything from Walmart or Sam's…. We cooked Shrimp, Chicken tikka masala, and Pilaf rice and everything came out well.
SPANISH INFLUENCE:
Evening is a good time to have a nice stroll in Old San Juan… this is where all the action is. We are yet to explore OLD SAN JUAN…The old San Juan downtown is a historic site and it has all kinds of Spanish influence and one will think that they are in SPAIN ….the streets are like in Spain and it’s filled with Bars and Restaurants….
PINA COLADA IS FROM HERE & BACARDI IS EVERYWHERE:
Pina Colada is the national drink and we had a couple of them in the place where it originated from. The place is called BARRACHINA and it’s a 1950’s restaurant with a unique setup. There are a lot of Bacardi and Rum bars all around the Downtown area …
BEACHES ARE EVERYWHERE:
Where ever you go in Puerto Rico you will hit beaches… water temperature is perfect and the weather year around is in 80’s … while all the beaches are picture perfect here you can select based on what your taste is. You can be in San Juan metro In a high rise building or you can drive a little far away from San Juan and be in forest and have beach views. No matter where you stay you will have access to the best of the best beaches… There are plenty to select from and we just went to one Private beach for now.
