VAATHI / SIR – NEW TAMIL TELUGU MOVIE REVIEW

DHANUSH acts as a School Teacher in the early 1990’s in this Fantastic well scripted new TAMIL TELUGU Movie VAATHI in TAMIL Version and SIR in TELUGU Version as well. Samyuktha Menon, SamudraKani plays a well-defined Supporting role in this movie as well. Music by GV Prakash and the movie directed by Venky Atluri.

STORY:

The story revolves around DHANUSH who is a Teacher who is deputed to a Village around Tamil Nadu Andhra border where the schooling system is broken. There are hardly any students who want to attend school and the Politics around the schooling system creates an even more difficult situation for anyone who wants to pursue education. 

A little did DHANUSH know before reaching the village about the politics behind providing proper education. The new villain of recent times SAMUDRAKANI who runs Tuition centers around the state wants a Government Schooling system that is broken so he can run his private institution to make money. His main aim is to make sure that the schooling system is broken for good. 

DHANUSH struggles and he tries to best to get students back to school. A typical Village background and how difficult it is to get the kids back on track is the storyline. In the meantime, he faces an uphill battle to keep up with the students, Politics and the move revolve around if he was successful in his fight against corruption. 

In between this beautiful gripping story is a small LOVE story between DHANUSH and SAMYKTHA MENON. A beautifully scripted Love story is also part of the story. A wonderful melodious (VAA VAATHI) Song by SWETHA MENON is one of the best ones heard in recent times. 

DHANUSH:

If you see the transformation of Dhanush in recent times and the number of hit movies he delivers, it’s just amazing to see him grow. His recent movie THIRUCHITRAMBALAM which was a super hit with a very low budget was a turning point for him. VAATHI is another low-budget, Acting heavy movie that displays DHANUSH as a mature HERO who focuses on acting than mass. He is slowly becoming the next KAMAL of South movies. 

While this movie is heavy on Subject there is no scene that was dragging or boring. Dhanush was able to carry this movie with fun and at the same time was able to deliver a strong message.

I strongly recommend to watch this movie and support such movies. The movie outlines the politics around the education system and how people make education as a business. The background score in this movie was outstanding with GV PRAKASH playing a couple of beautiful melodies hits. VAA VATHI SONG By SWETH MENON was the highlight and there is also a DHANUSH version of the same song. Overall, a very gripping movie and an Award-winning performance by DHANUSH. A Cute Love story adds up to this well-defined storyline. A WORTH WATCH and watch in the theater. It’s been a while since I saw a decent movie in the theater and VAATHI is one movie that is worth watching.
